1 (3 pound) boneless chuck roast
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
salt and pepper to taste
1 18oz bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce
or in place of BBQ sauce
Mix together.
1/4 c packed brown sugar
1/4 c apple cider vinegar
1/4 c tomato paste
1 tsp cayenne pepper
Place roast into slow cooker. Sprinkle with garlic powder and onion powder, and season with salt and pepper. Pour BBQ sauce or mix over meat and pierce roast repeatedly with fork or knife to help BBQ or mix penetrate the meat better. Cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours.
Remove meat from slow cooker, shred, and return to slow cooker. Cook for 1 more hour. Serve hot.
