Welcome to our Beehive Styles Forum!

Please read the forum's start page for it's rules of conduct and follow them. We want this to be a pleasant place for all those who come here to share their styles or to get styles for their Beehive forum.

Our posting guidelines for styles are as follows:
All images must be general audience friendly.
-This means no adult content, such as nudity or foul language.

A style posting must have between five and twenty image showing different areas of a Beehive forum using that style.

Make use of thumbnails linking to your main image for this board. Oversize images can be a real pain.

Images and styles must be stored offsite for viewing and downloading.

Our hope is to create a thriving styles community here for the most awesome forum software ever created, and in some way, be able to help Beehive forum grow even more.

Make the switch. Download Beehive Forum and install it on your site. We're sure you'll love it as much as we do here. :)

Oooh! A styling forum! Does Beehive use the HTML/CSS formatting? It's completely free to style here?

D,

I'm wondering, is there a CSS template that can be used here? I know that we can download the zip files for themes, but is there anything more streamline like The Other Site Who Shall Not Be Named uses? I'm having difficulty figuring out which html section corresponds with which part of the Beehive Forums. There seems to be a lot of additional coding that I'm not sure of. I downloaded "Adrift" as an example, but I'm not certain the ones I marked are even correct.

EX:

CSS

/~* TITLE BAR/BANNER *~/

.top a:hover {
background-color: transparent;
}

.top_banner {
background-color: #D9E5D1;
background-image: url(http://designsbymtnrose.coffeecup.com/InspiredByMtnRose/LoseYourself3.jpg);
background-attachment: fixed;
background-repeat: repeat;
background-position: center;
font-family: times, verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
font-weight: bold;
color: #010101;
margin: 0px;
padding: 0px;
}

/~* START PAGE & MESSAGE PAGE RIGHT *~/

html, body {

}

}

You can see what I mean more fully, I think, with the following CSS. Granted, it's the same template I've used for nearly a decade, I just adjust it to meet new coding needs and/or change what I want changed. Do you see how each section begins with some sort of header to let me know which section I'm working on? Is that not something that would work here in Beehive?

http://forums.delphiforums.com/mtnrose/messages/?msg=119.1

I've also noticed for each theme, there are several sections of HTML. Do these all the ones not marked as *REQUIRED need to be done for each theme created?
  • DESC {*REQUIRED Theme Name}
  • Admin {HTML}
  • Images {HTML}
  • CSS/Stylesheet {*REQUIRED HTML}
  • Mobile {HTML}
  • Beehive Style Template {The template you posted in the design forum to show what the theme looks like before it's installed, I assume?}

I'll throw one together. It might take me a day or two, and I'm going to put up a tutorial on how to use the FTP client I use, CoffeeCup, for anyone who needs it. This will all be over at the Information Center for you. :)

The FTP client tutorial is up. I'll start on the styling tutorial and template tomorrow after my appointments.

Awesome! You are amazing!

I did download everything you gave me the links to, now I just have to figure out how to use them. XD

LOL Um...I think I give up.

I went to the Information Center, and read through the instructions you'd left, but I am so...lost. I got caught up with this part of the instructions:

"The server and user account information is all provided for you in the PM staff sends you on setting up your FTP access to your member web space.

All accounts are tested using this very same FTP client before sending the information to the member. Your password is generated by a password generator. If you lose it, we won't be able to recover it for you. All we can do is use the generator to set you a new password."

I don't remember getting a PM/Email with my account information, or a computer generated password for the Coffee Cup FTP. If it was from my Beehive account, I'm S.O.L. because I created my account forever ago and then forgot all about it after my last computer crashed. LOL

Maybe I should just wait until you're around so that I can ask questions, and get immediate responses while I'm working with it. I learn better by doing, but when I hit any sort of snag, I need to be able to work it out with someone. :)

The FTP information you should have is what I sent you for you to be able to access the work site styles folder and create your own styles.

If you want me to set up your member web space, that is a different FTP account.

I'll be on this evening for a while if you want to meet up in chat. Sound good?

Oh shoot! I missed you again. Bleh! Let me know when you'll be on again. My work schedule keeps me pretty occupied between 2:00 - 9:00 PM MST Monday - Thursday, and then again 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM Saturday and Sunday. I'm not online at all on Fridays, but I will see if I can't work around your schedule.

I don't know if I can get on this weekend. I'm supposed to have the grands while Mommy and Daddy go on a trip.

If I'm correct, PST is three hours behind EST. So your times would convert to about 11am to 6pm Mon to Thurs, and 9pm to 9am Sat and Sunday my time.

Hmm, what about around 7 - 8pm your time, which would be about 11pm to 12am my time?

Will that work for you? It'll give me plenty of time to get some rest after the kids go home. I love them, but man do they take it out of you. lol

Violet turns two in July and the boys are six and eight. If we could bottle their energy, fossil fuels would be a thing of the past. lol

I also found these video tutorials. See if any of them help. They're for the Coffee Cup FTP client.

Oh! No sweat. I totally get it. ;) RL always comes first, and boy is it consuming. :D

I'll take a look at the tutorials you provided me, and see if that doesn't help me figure things out. I think I'll definitely have to get a new password though, because I deleted all of the old Beehive emails that we were exchanging back and forth.

I'm actually MST, so if you're EST than I would be 2 hours behind you. 12:00 PM MST, would be 2:00 PM EST.

I'm in the Information Center chat room now. I've got 12:11am here. What is yours?

Well it's about 1am now. I have to head out. We have to get car parts tomorrow. Nothing quite like going down the road and suddenly 'Yippy-yo where'd the brakes go!'. I'm just glad I wasn't the one driving.

Made for an interesting ride home. lol

Now tomorrow I get to listen to him pitching a fit under the car. This part should be fun at least. lol

I'll catch you later one Hon.

Take care.

I can't believe I didn't get a notification for this. Darn! I actually work from home, so my online time varies. I'm MST though, so if it's 12:00 PM (Noon) EST (your time), it would be 10:00 AM here MST.

I'll see what I can do, but I'm working a new job and don't have the time I did before starting.

Over in the Site Information Center is a special folder for communication between myself and forum owners. Only forum owners and site staff can see it. It holds information on when I may be available to field support issues.

I also PMed each forum owner a number to text in event they need support.

Did I not send you one Hon?

Things have been a little crazy with everything that has been going on and getting ready for the new job. If I missed you, I'm sorry. It was not intentional. If I did, let me know and I'll send you another one.

The chat isn't logging people out when they leave. I think it's because it's using the forums system sessions and the two login/logout systems are quite meshing for some reason. I'm going to have to get someone to look at it sometime. It doesn't affect functionality. It's just annoying.

Yes, I got the Inbox message, but I didn't want to bother you. I'm a firm believer that RL always comes first, and online is secondary. :) So, I have no problem waiting until you've read the posts sent to you. ;)
