I'm not seeing a place to upload the CSS on the other site. Do you have step by step instructions?

The access is FTP and you have direct access to the work site's styles folder.

When you connect with your FTP account, you'll see the other styles' folders. Right now there is default, honeycomb, and yellow in the work site's styles folder.

Create your style folder with all the subfolders and files in it, and remember to edit the desc.txt file so your style's name shows up in the drop down lists of the the forum system.

After you're done, then you can upload the folder and it's contents into the work site's styles folder. When you name your style's folder, remember not to use dots or empty spaces. You can use them in the desc.txt file content, but not for the folder name. You can name the folder whatever want, as long as there are no empty spaces or dots.

These will work. > my_style or mystyle
These won't work. > my style or my.style

When I do a style I usually put something like 'Style Name by Deanna' in the desc.txt file, then people know it's a style I've done.

Example: Pretty Purple by Deanna

D,

I am so not the person that doesn't get it when it's explained as well as you have, but I'm missing something horribly. LOL

Okay, so here's the thing:

I went to http://beehiveforum.us/w0rks1t3/ and logged in. This is what I see:

I don't see anywhere where I can create a folder for my themes. I don't see where I can host the images. I don't see where I can upload, unless I just start a new thread in one of the existing folders. :(

Does the Beehive Styles Forum have a step by step tutorial? I think that's what I'm going to need to be able to understand what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm feeling quite elementary at the moment. LMAO!

I removed your images so your personal information isn't sticking out there all naked and such. :)

You won't find any of that from the web side, which is what you're looking at when you go to the work site address and log into the forums from the front end. It's just like when you log into these forums. You're coming in at the front end.

What you need to do is use your FTP client and the FTP login information you have to log into the back end. If you need a FTP client, CoffeeCup.com has a really good client for free. It's what I use. It works great.

In the right frame of the below image is what you see when you connect using your FTP information and client. You can download any of the styles there to use as a template, edit it on your computer and then upload the renamed folder and style into the system's styles folder.

The work site system's styles folder is what you're connecting to and those are the styles currently in it. You can even make a folder for the style you're creating.

Personally, I usually download a style, rename it, then edit it to create a new style. It's easier and faster. If you do it this way, remember to rename the folder and to edit the desc.txt file.

The desc.txt file content is what shows on the drop down lists where people set their style preferences in the forums. Otherwise you won't know which of the two listed in the drop down is actually your style when you log into the forums to view your progress.

Does this help any Hon?

D,

Okay, I've never heard of or used anything like this before. LOL Alright, I've downloaded the Free File Transfer Protocol (FTP), as well as the HTML Editor...just in case. I have the FTP up, but it's all Greek to me. Also, there is another box that opened up with it called a 'Transfer Activity' box.

Can you give me step by step instructions on how to use it? And when I say step by step...treat me like a beginner who knows absolutely nothing about it. LOL I'm so sorry to be a pain in the butt. With Delphi, all I had to do was change criteria on a template that I made, and then copy/paste to install it directly into the forum's controls.

P.S. Thanks for removing the images. LOL I didn't know they had personal information on them. XD

D,

I created an account in my S-Drive. I'm not sure what that means, but I did. LOL Then it told me that I needed to create a web address, so I chose designsbymtnrose, but now it want's me to create an actual website with one of their templates. Do I do this? *Pulls hair out* I'm so confused. XD

You don't need to bother with the S Drive thing at all.

I put up a FTP tutorial over at the Information Center that should answer all your questions Hon. :)

I'll start working on the styling template tomorrow, after my appointments. :)
